Monroe County Local History Room & Museum
The museum offers interactive exhibits and special programs. Permanent exhibits and regularly changing displays illustrate the past lives and experiences of Monroe County folks, pioneer history, agriculture, military history, industry business, and the home. Located in the same building as the Deke Slayton museum, the research library is an essential resource to the genealogist and local historian.

Wegner Grotto
A fantastic garden of concrete sculptures decorated with thousands of glittering glass shards. It appears out of nowhere in the countryside. This is a real treasure just north of Sparta on Hwy 27 near the Town of Cataract. Paul and Matilda Wegner have created a remarkable “Grotto” which has been restored by the Kohler Foundation.

Little Falls Railroad & Doll Museum, LTD
History is preserved in two Museums on a three-acre rural campus. The museum houses 1600 dolls, from the 1800’s to the present. The Railroad Museum dates back to the 1900’s with a telegraph & ticket office, operating layouts, railroad art & a caboose tour. There is a playground, picnic shelter, play train & rides. There is also a Gift Shop available.

Fort McCoy Commemorative Area
The Commemorative Area highlights Fort McCoy’s history using buildings, exhibits, and equipment. It has an equipment park, five WW 2 buildings, and a History Center that highlights Fort McCoy’s role in the armed forces since 1909. Buildings are open by appointment. The Equipment Park is open Daily. Enter at the Main Gate off of Hwy 21. Adults must furnish photo identification and obtain a visitors pass.

Little Red School House
Located in Tomah’s Gillett Park on Superior Avenue, this delightfully preserved one-room schoolhouse allows visitors to step back in time to discover how the students of years past were taught. Open Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Tomah Area Historical Society Museum
The Museum collects, preserves, and displays items related to Tomah. The items include books, photos, clothing, and artifacts that depict agriculture, lumbering, business, railroad, military and the Native American background of the area. There is a large collection of Frank King materials, including his Gasoline Alley comic strip, which is very unique to Tomah. The museum is located at 1112 S. Superior Ave, Tomah, WI.

Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center
The Discovery Center is housed in an historic cranberry warehouse in downtown Warrens, Wisconsin. The Discovery Center is dedicated to educating the public about our state’s number 1 fruit crop. During your self-guided tour of the interactive Exhibit Hall, you’ll discover how cranberries are grown and harvested. After the tour cranberry treats are available along with a Gift Shop. Admission is charged for the Exhibit Hall only.
